Thank you for your interest in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) and this exciting opportunity to join our Board. This website gives you quick access to all the information you might need to make an informed decision about whether BCUHB is an organisation you would like to join and to find out about this potential new career challenge.
As a fully integrated healthcare commissioner and provider with responsibility for all primary, community, mental health and acute hospital services for the 678,000 population of the six counties of North Wales and with a £1.4 billion annual budget, we are by any measure a large and complex organisation. We cover a large geography - one that includes Snowdonia National Park, Anglesey and the North Wales coast. This gives us unique clinical and operational challenges, as well as breath-taking views.
At this financially challenging time we are seeking a new strategic leader to work as an integral and central member of our University Health Board contributing to the corporate leadership of the whole of our organisation’s activities. Our Director of Finance will take a lead in ensuring we design and implement strong, effective performance measurement and management systems and that there is a robust accountability structure across our services that empower our workforce to deliver value for money.
You will inherit an experienced, capable and dedicated team who are focused on embedding a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that our populations benefit from our integrated care service model. This role will be critical in ensuring we transform services for our patients ensuring that these are accessible and sustainable in the face of significant operational and financial pressures.
This role will suit an experienced strategic financial leader with an NHS provider, system or commissioning background and will provide you with a unique career opportunity to provide professional leadership in a truly integrated healthcare organisation. It will offer an exceptional opportunity to develop your corporate leadership skills across a broad, diverse and complex set of services working at scale. Working in the Welsh system at this senior level you will also find a real opportunity to engage, influence and interact with national health leaders further increasing your opportunity to develop professionally and personally.
I hope the information provided here encourages you to look more closely at BCUHB and at North Wales and to consider this role. We look forward to hearing from you, via Emma Pickup of GatenbySanderson on
